Stick a Fork in me...

BECAUSE I AM DONE!!!

After 12 very long but short weeks, I am finally finished studying/taking the bar and now trying to figure out what to do with all of my free time. I sort of feel like a fish out of water not knowing what to do with all of this extra time.

So far my past few days have included:

Spending lots of time here

Sleeping like one of these

And watching lots of

And thinking about taking up a new hobby.... Suggestions are welcomed.

Everyone keeps asking how I feel now that I am finished, but truth be told I have no idea. The 12 hours I spent over 2 days taking the Bar Exam, pretty much determines the next 12 months of my life. Its cool, no pressure or anything.

My Dad called me one day and said "Sweetheart, do you know who John F. Kennedy was?" I said "um yes Dad..." "Well it took him 3 times to pass the bar, so its ok if you don't pass on the first time either." While I understood and appreciated his support, I wanted to tell him that taking it 3 times was just not an option.

However I am so thankful for all of the support and good luck wishes I received from all of my family, friends, and random people I would meet in the grocery store line or the post office who I'd strike up conversation with. I think the man at the Cameron Village Post Office thinks I am a little strange when I did a sort of happy dance yesterday while mailing my used textbooks off.

Nonetheless, now that I literally have NOTHING to do, I plan to resume blogging, so no worries you 7 readers, I will not be taking any more blog hiatuses.

Bar Exam Soundtrack

So as I hit the 2 week, 14 day, 336 hour, 20160 minutes until the bar exam, I began hearing all kinds of songs in my head. I am not sure if it is because I am majorly lacking social interaction with virtually anyone these days, or that there is now an actual ascertainable date of doomsday. However I'd thought I'd share with all of you the little terrifying soundtrack that keeps on playing on repeat and keeping me awake at night.

Thanks MLJ for this one

Because lets face it, the 14 day mark started it

Because I am literally living on one [yours are welcomed]

So for the next 2 weeks, 14 days, 335.8 hours, 20154 mins, I am sure I will be freaking out, but at least there are some good tunes to get me through it.

Well Happy Birthday America

I would just like to say that I am SO HAPPY that this will [fingers crossed] be the last holiday that law school ruins for me.

I long to be doing this:

Listening to the sweet American tunes of this guy:

and drinking many American

However, I will be celebrating America in a different way this holiday weekend Yes I will be spending some much needed quality time learning everything SCOTUS [law school term for the Supreme Court of the United States] has EVER and I mean EVER said about this thing:

So for all you people who are not taking the bar, I sure hope you enjoy your BBQ chicken, your tanning & cornhole, your cold American beers, and your fancy sparklers.

Lessons Learned while Studying for the Bar

With 7 weeks already down, and 4 more to go, I have come to learn a few things about myself while studying for the bar.

1. I really really hate having long hair.

My hair currently looks like this :

Yes with nappy roots and all. I am longing for the day that I can have about a 1/2 of a foot cut off and go back to having pretty blonde strands. Additionally my split ends have become such a distraction that the other day I realized that I had been trimming them for a hour, yes ONE HOUR, when I should have been doing practice questions. If I do not know how to gain personal jurisdiction over an organization in NC, then I am blaming my split ends.

2. I really really hate being pale in the summer.

I currently look like this guy

There is nothing attractive about my pale and ghostly freckled skin. Thank goodness the library is closed on Monday, so I can attempt to look like a living person again. I dread getting dressed now, and when I say "getting dressed" I mean actually putting on make up and something other than a t-shirt and sweat pants. I must say I rock a pretty good side pony these days.

3. I have developed super sensitive hearing.

I am not sure if it is the people that talk and laugh loudly in the office next to my  12x10 jail cell study room, or the girl who lives above my roommate and I who walks like she is

Every little ticking, tapping, heavy breathing, stomping, noise is beginning to make my skin crawl. I have nightmares about sitting across from someone on July 26th and 27th, who is a tapper. There they will sit just tapping their pencil, or stomping on their keyboard, or smacking their gum. I know my luck and I know that is what is going to happen. Thank goodness the Board of Law Examiners provides ear plugs [allegedly] because if not I could see myself having a freak out in the middle of everyone.

I realize right now I am not the most pleasant person to be around. I strive daily to be non-crazy, but it is a test in itself. For those 7 of you readers, the ones who see me, my hair roots, my pale skin, and my glaring eyes from whatever noise you or someone else is making, please accept my apologies.
